Day 1 (12 Feb ): Transfer-Park Check-in/ Night Game Drive

Akagera National Park located in the Northeastern part of Rwanda is named after the Akagera River that flows along its eastern boundary and feeds into a labyrinth of lakes of which the largest is Lake Ihema. The forest fringed lakes, papyrus swamps, savannah plains and rolling highlands combine to make Akagera amongst the most scenic national parks anywhere in Africa. It has exceptional levels of biodiversity and forms the largest protected wetland in central Africa.

Our professional driver guide will pick you up at 7am for your trip to Akagera national park. You will head for a short game drive and later a boat ride in the evening on lake Ihema in search for water-lovers and later check in at Ruzizi Tented lodge for meals and accommodation.

Day 2 (13 Feb 2019) Day Game drive and transfer to Lake Kivu

After breakfast, you will head for full game drive from the southern part of the park to the Northern part. The day game drive offers you the opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals such as elephants, buffalos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck. And water lovers like Crocodiles and Hippos, coupled with large concentration of bird life; over 525 species identified. Later you will proceed to Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Cormorant Lodge

Rwanda’s largest and Africa’s sixth largest lake extremely good-looking inland water body enclosed by steep, green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda, it stands at a height of 1, 460 meters (4,790 ft) above sea level, 89 km in length and 48 km wide, covering a surface of 2700 km² at an average depth of 240m with maximum depth at 480m, water volume of 500km^3.It stands across the border connecting western Rwanda to the Democratic Republic of Congo and is surrounded by forested hills, with sandy bays and fishing villages.

Day3( 14 Feb): Valentine’s Dinner

After breakfast, relax at the lodge, a serene haven for relaxation and tranquility. Later after lunch, finally the sun is getting lower in the sky, the temperature is easing off. It’s time to cruise, Head for a sunset boat cruise on Lake Kivu and visit Peace Island and Bat Island and back to the shore.
