Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional drive guide ready to escort you to your chosen hotel and introduce you briefly to a country of thousand hills and a million smiles.

City Tour & Fly To Volcanoes NP
After breakfast at the hotel, at 9am, you will embark on a short city tour of the Africa’s cleanest cities which includes travelling through Nyamirambo to the top of of Mt. Kigali, one of the highest hills in Kigali for the best view of City and the country side. From here, you will proceed with The Kigali Genocide Memorial; the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, This memorial also serves to educate about genocide around the world in the 20th century. After a leisure lunch at Hotel de Mille Collines, a luxury hotel you might recognize from the film Hotel Rwanda, you will head the Campaign Against Genocide Museum; it includes several monuments, pictures, video and audio materials aimed at depicting the campaign by the Rwanda Patriotic Front to stop the Genocide Against the Tutsi. Later you will transfer to Kigali international airport where you will connect with your scheduled flight to fly to Volcanoes National park. Here you will meet with our drive guide ready to escort you at your selected hotel for dinner and overnight.

Gorilla Trekking & Iby’iwacu Culture Village
Volcanoes National Park is the Rwanda section of the more extended Virunga Conservation Area shared between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo DRC. With an area of 125 square kilometer, it is home to one third of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, golden monkey and a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath. The park’s name and the majestic landscape is framed by five volcanoes it houses: Kalisimbi, Muhabura, Bisoke (with a verdant crater Lake), Sabyinyo and Gahinga and the altitude ranges from 2400 m to the 4.000 and above of the peaks. Today is an exciting day! A life time experience! After early breakfast you will drive to the park headquarter for a briefing. After briefing from park ranger, you will head to the starting point of your trekking according to a gorilla family you have been appointed. The trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas; its own rewards. Spend a whole one hour with the family for an awe-inspiring spectacle that begins quietly you sense their presence. Enjoy a closer view, only a few meters away from you, adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful display.
After an overwhelming encounter, you will drive to the lodge for a refreshment and later after lunch proceed with Rwanda culture entertainment at Iby’ Iwacu culture center (gorilla guardians). Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village is a living museum of Rwanda’s ancient ways supporting the local community. A guided community walks through this village reward you with unusual and unforgettable culture experience from food to dance. Dinner and overnight at the selected Lodge.

Twin Lakes & Fly To Kigali For Departure
Located between Musanze district and Ugandan border at the base of the Mount Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo, it’s believed that the twin lakes were formed after volcanic glaciers from the erupted volcanoes blocked river Nyabarongo that was flowing towards the northern part of the Rwanda. The twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo were named so because they are situated in the same areas and their physical connection and share a combined surface area of 2800 hectares of land. Famed for its fresh air, gorgeous mountain vista, and perfect weather, the lakes offer tourists a beautiful view of landscape, wetland habitat, and water birds, Virunga volcanoes.After breakfast, you will drive to Burera and Ruhondo Lakes for a fantastic nature walk around the lakes, bird watching later a beautiful sundowner cruise while enjoying the outstanding view of the volcanoes with cold drinks and snacks. Later at 3 pm, you will transfer to Musanze airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Kigali International airport where you will connect with your international departure.

- Definitely wear proper walking boots, one client our trip wore trainers on the mountain, could hardly stand up. Where the gorillas flatten the bushes and ferns it is very slippy to walk on
- Wear long trousers and gaiters – you will be walking through dense bush in places and don’t want scratches or creepy crawlies up your legs

- Take a sweatshirt as it can be cold on the mountain
